Throughout this entire experience of spiritual healing and growth, crystals have been a key component for me.
So I feel it is only right to share what I have experienced with crystals, as well as guide those who wish to work with these special gems. For the next few weeks, I will be getting into detail with the many well-known crystals and even some not-so-well-known. Before that, though, we should go through the general information.
The first thing you need to know is that not everyone will react the same way to the energy crystals provide. Therefore everyone has a different interpretation of them and what they do. I simply wish to give you all my perspective and hopefully be helpful to those still learning.
To be honest, I’m still learning myself. There’s just so many different crystals out there, with hundreds of combinations possible.
Luckily there are also hundreds of sources dedicated to the study of crystals and their properties.
When starting a crystal collection, it is important to know that there is a proper way to care for and use them. And not all crystals are the same.
While there are some crystals that flourish in the sunlight, there are others that will lose their color and their energetic capacities when left in the sun. The same goes for salt water and fresh water.
Why? You may ask. This is simply because they are part of this Earth. Therefore they fall under the laws of geology.
Still, there is something ethereal about these “rocks” around us. As I have worked with them, I have come to one conclusion.
Just like us, Mother Earth- or Aya, as I call her- has different ways of showing her love for us. As she provides multiple means to nourish us, she also gives us multiple ways to heal ourselves. And using her pockets of energies in these crystals, I believe, is one of those ways.
So it is only right that we honor Aya by taking proper care of these energies she gives us, as well as using it in the proper manner.
There are multiple ways to use crystals. The most popular is to fashion them into jewelry to wear on a daily basis. I follow this trend as well, using the crystals best suited for what I am hoping to heal or improve in my life.
Another trend I like to follow is making crystal grids on my altar to meditate with. This, I have found, is very useful when I want to focus on something specific during my meditations.
Bryan and I have also made these grids when doing ceremonies together. I guess you can equate these ceremonies to Sunday Mass, except these are a lot more personal to us. And, one day, I hope to include our son in these ceremonies.
All in all, crystals are a tool like any other. Only these tools work in an energetic manner. And as long as you know how to use them and care for them, you will find they will take care of you as well.
